HORIZON 2024 – our most recent project opportunity.

AtomTrace has been involved in technical development and innovations in the geological exploration and mining sector for several years. Successful development of our mobile LIBS-based analytical system M-Trace attracted the attention of companies around the globe. Recently, AtomTrace was invited as a partner in a consortium of companies aiming to develop a system for identifying and exploring critical mineral resources. The ambitious project aiming to transform the exploration of critical resources such as Li or Mg by creating eight cutting-edge, eco-friendly exploration technologies. Our contribution – the world’s first automated LIBS-RS analytical instrument, capable of analysing a 5 m drill core in very short time, will eliminate the need for offsite sample analysis. The generated data outputs will be integrated by cutting-edge AI technologies, transforming it into actionable insights for enhanced decision-making.

We are proud to be an essential part of this highly complex project proposal involving 18 consortium partners from 11 European countries. It was submitted to the EU program call HORIZON-CL4-2024-RESILIENCE-01 (RESILIENT VALUE CHAINS 2024) and applied for the total support of 5 million EUR. In close collaboration and equipment testing with Lekatech (Finland), Terranigma (Germany) or DOK-ING (Croatia) AtomTrace improves its position in the mining industry sector. The result of this project competition will be announced in June 2024.

AtomTrace has already proceeded the first actions towards developing an integrated analytical system that will be finalized within the proposed project such as a small pilot project supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Innovative Solution for in-field chemical analysis of drill core – validation of idea.
